Having owned a GP2X open source gaming device for awhile I wanted to pay homage to my new beloved toy.

What better way that actually creating a virtual one that you could tinker around with? By finding rough guidelines and various images online and using the device itself I was able to recreate the gaming console in 3D. Taking this a step further I decided to create an 'unofficial' red version and post this on the GP2X community forums.

This caused quite stir as there were no intended coloured versions to be released. Having cried foul on this I caught the attention of the UK distributor who asked me to concept accessories for the device that he could get additional funding from the original manufacturer to create.
